The Greatest Show on Earth

On Thursday we got to go to the circus! I think Shaun and I were just as excited as Emmy was (she saw the commercials on TV and clips on the Internet) because we had never been to a circus. Yep, Shaun and I were deprived children! They had some of your traditional circus acts and some other really fun acts. Emmy surprised us at how well she did during the 2 1/2 hours of the performance. I think it helped that she had some friends with her. She loved the clowns and the elephants the most. We had a lot of fun and are glad that we can do these kinds of activities with her. We look forward to the circus coming to town again!

Emmy, Brayden, & Logan

Part of the opening. I loved how I was able to catch the fireworks so they look like stars

One of the many tricks that the Elephants did. It's amazing they can get them to do so much being so big!

The dogs. They did some really fun tricks. Emmy really liked them too!
Some of the acrobats that were very cool.

The closing of the show with all the acts

Car Wash

So it's Saturday at 9:00 am, already 102 degrees outside and Shaun decides it would be fun to wash the cars. I must mention that this turned out to be the hotest day of the year so far at 111 degrees! As he was starting Emmy, who loves to play with water wanted to help. They had a great time and got really wet, well Emmy did. She loves to help her Daddy . . . and the cars look really nice!

Trying to stay cool!!!

Here's how Andrew stays cool in the summer!

Emmy's Daddy!

Happy Father's Day! Here's Emmy and her Daddy, aren't they cute! Shaun is such a great Dad. He has been hands on since the day she was born. I am proud to brag and say that I didn't change a single diaper while we were in the hospital when she was born! She loves to play with him and is now helping him do his yard work and other stuff around the house. It's so fun to watch them do things together. We had a good Father's Day, and Shaun even did a lot of the cooking! He made is delicious dutch oven potatoes and then made peach cobbler in the dutch oven. I'm an very grateful for the wonderful Dad that he is and the love that he shows to Emmy!

Pigtails!!!

I can't beleive it. . . the moment that I have been waiting for is finally here. It took 2 LONG years, but Emmy's hair is finally long enough for pigtails! I was surpirised this morning when she sat still and let me do her hair for church. I put in the pigtails and she wasn't sure about them at first. Then I put bows on them. She did take the bows off once or twice, but left in the pigtails. They made it all the way through chruch. Horray!!! She looked so cute, but I actually think she looks younger with them in. Now she just looks like a really tall 1 year old. AND, at the end of the day I asked her if she wanted me to take them out and she said No! Yeah for Emmy!!
