Swingset!!!!

My Mom found a great deal on a swingset, so Shaun and I broke down and bought it. We liked several things about it, 1. it's meatal and plastic which means that it's portable and there's less up keep. 2. there were places for 8 kids to swing at one time. My Dad came over yesterday and helped Shaun finish putting it together. Emmy was so excited that she would scream as she swang. Papa would scream along with her and she loved that! This morning when she woke up the first thing she said was "swing"! When I got it on her she kept saying, "thank you Papa!" Daddy got the shaft, but I finally got her to say "thank you Daddy" also. I think it will be hours of fun for her!

Zoo with Joey!

Yesterday my sister Monica and Joey were in town (they went to Cats with us) so we thought we would go to the zoo. Emmy's been asking me to go for a while now. We didn't realize how hot it would be! We had a good time anyway! Enjoy the pictures!

One of Emmy's favorites at the is the Rhino's. She thinks it's funny that they stink and she says "Pew Pew" when she see's them. She thought it was funny to see them taking a "bath".
This picture my mom thought was hilarios. It's not often you see a Giraffe in this pose. He was drinking some water. . . even they were hot!
Emmy watching the polar bear swim. We had never seen him so active. She didn't want to leave!
Here's Joey playing around with a giant turtle shell. They had a great time. Emmy loves him a lot, much to his dismay!

Cats!

So, this weekend Shaun and I had a chance to get dressed up and do something cultural! Fortunately I have a husband that is actuall willing to go to these types of things with me. In college I went to a lot of plays because the U of A offers students 1/2 price tickets. I was excited to go see Cats and managed to talk several of my family members into joining us. However, not many of them liked it! I will say that it is harder to follow than most plays because it doesn't have a story line. For those of you who don't know, it's a collection of poems by T.S. Elliot set to music by Andrew Lloyed Webber. The costumes and talent were AMAZING! I'm glad that I got to see it. It's always worth seeing the classics. I know that Shaun and my Dad would definitely disagree with me on that one!

Aliison's 13!?

It's hard to beleive that my niece Allison is 13! When Allison has a birthday it makes me feel old because she was born just a couple of weeks before I graduated from high school. It's crazy to think that was so long ago. Where has the time gone? She is turning into a wonderful Young Woman and we love her very much.
Last Friday was her birthday party. She had a luau themed pool party. Emmy had a great time watching the girls play and wanted to be right there with them. The rest of us had fun (or something) listening to eight 13 year olds giggle and sing the Jonas Brothers. Here's a couple of pictures.

Here's Allison and the cake that I made for her party. Isn't it cute?

Emmy swimming with her Daddy. She did so good kicking and playing.

Cathleen playing in the pool with Emmy and her dolly. Doesn't Cathleen look like she's having fun?

Here's Emmy when she got out of the pool. She was so cold that she couldn't stop shivering, but then wanted to get back in! Crazy girl loves the water!

It wouldn't be a pool party unless there was some dunking! Cathleen took the liberty of giving Allison her birthday dunking! I think Allison knew what was coming.

This was right after Cathleen pushed Ruben into the pool, fully clothed I might add, in front of all the girls. I can't beleive he's smiling. He took it well!

Aliison and Ruben chicken fighting, check out the intensity!

Allison and her hula girl pinata. It's huge!
