Play Time!

Tonight we decided to take advantage of Monsoon Madness at The Children's Museum ($1 admission). It was especially fun since Joey was in town to visit us. The kids had a great time and it was nice to get out of the house! Enjoy the pictures:

Allison, Ruben, Joey, & Emmy - Aren't they getting so big!

Happy 4th of July!

Happy 4th of July, on of my favorite holidays of the year! We had a nice day by swimming at my brother's house and then watching fireworks! Emmy really liked watching the fireworks and would yell "Boom" when they went off. It was fun to see her get excited. I played with my camera and the fireworks a little, so indulge me a little with these shots! It's fun to learn and play. I wish we were a little bit closer so they'd be better, but there's always next year!

Emmy and her Tia Cathleen

At my parents house before the fireworks there was a big storm that came through. We were worried that it would affect the fireworks, but it didn't, Yeah! I liked this picture a lot though because this is all natural light,

Shaun's quote of the day (for the 4th): "What better way to celebrate our contry's independence than by blowing up a small piece of it." (TV quote, extra points for those of you that know what it's from!)

Hope you all had a great 4th!

The Greatest Show on Earth

On Thursday we got to go to the circus! I think Shaun and I were just as excited as Emmy was (she saw the commercials on TV and clips on the Internet) because we had never been to a circus. Yep, Shaun and I were deprived children! They had some of your traditional circus acts and some other really fun acts. Emmy surprised us at how well she did during the 2 1/2 hours of the performance. I think it helped that she had some friends with her. She loved the clowns and the elephants the most. We had a lot of fun and are glad that we can do these kinds of activities with her. We look forward to the circus coming to town again!

Part of the opening. I loved how I was able to catch the fireworks so they look like stars

One of the many tricks that the Elephants did. It's amazing they can get them to do so much being so big!

The dogs. They did some really fun tricks. Emmy really liked them too!
Some of the acrobats that were very cool.

Car Wash

So it's Saturday at 9:00 am, already 102 degrees outside and Shaun decides it would be fun to wash the cars. I must mention that this turned out to be the hotest day of the year so far at 111 degrees! As he was starting Emmy, who loves to play with water wanted to help. They had a great time and got really wet, well Emmy did. She loves to help her Daddy . . . and the cars look really nice!
